You can also watch a lot of flamingos, ostriches, ibis and more than 500 types of birds. After an extensive game drive and picnic in the crater, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Serengeti National Park is known for its unique sights, sounds and smells with stunning scenery, ever changing light and entertaining wildlife. The animals don’t work on any schedule, so it remains a surprise how many lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, cheetahs, hippos, antelopes, and many species of birds and reptiles we will be able to spot during our exciting game drive.

 Day 5: Serengeti National Park

Today we will enjoy a full day game drive in the heart of african wildlife. During the short rain season in November and December the herds move from the Serengeti hills in the North to the plains in the South. During the longer rain season from April to June they return up North. As the migration is completely dependent on the yearly rainfalls, the location of the herds may vary from year to year. Yet, Samora Explorers´ guide will know where to locate the animals. With a little luck, we might even spot all of the Big Five today.
