Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara

TWIGA is the swahili word which means GIRAFFE  and we decide to call  this tour Twiga because there are possibilities to see groups of giraffe on your game drives. The tour will be taking you to Tarangire National ParkNgorongoro Crater among seven wonders of Africa and Lake Manyara National Park.

 Day 1: Arrived at JRO Airport

After you arrive JRO Airport , you will meet your guide who will take you to Arusha where you will stay overnight. On the way there will be the option to visit Lake Duluti – a  crater lake in the shadow of Mount Meru .  Lake Duluti was formed inside a volcanic crater and has water throughout the year, mainly from groundwater and seasonal rainfall, here you can enjoy your afternoon/evening by having drinks before driving to your hotel or lodge in Arusha.

 Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park   

In the morning we start our safari to Tarangire National Park, the drive will take almost 2 hours. The park is roughly the size of Luxemburg and covers an area of about 2,650 km². Bush Savannah, seasonal swamps and giant baobab trees make up the landscape of this nature reserve and the park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants. From the open roof of the safari vehicle {4×4} you will be able to watch them and absorb the landscape. Apart from elephants, the park is also home to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons, and more than 500 types of birds. After an extensive game drive you will leave the park in the afternoon and drive to the Karatu area where your hotel or lodge will be located.

 Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast we head towards the crater via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Inside the world’s biggest caldera you will see a diversity of wildlife ranging from black rhinos, grant’s and thomson’s gazelles, big prides of lions, leopards, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs, impalas and more antelopes, also you can see a lot of flamingos, ostriches, ibis and more than 500 types of birds.

 Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park 

After the breakfast we will be driving to the paradise of the primates and aquatic birds. Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. And thanks to this, the small park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible bird life. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world and the lions here are also known for their tree climbing.  After the game viewing in Lake Manyara National Park we drive to Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport to Zanzibar.
